Things we get asked all the time...

Do I need a diagnosis to work with you?

Nope! We work with folks at every stage of their relationship with food. Whether you’d like to recover from an eating disorder, work on a specific health condition, or just explore your relationship with food from a non-diet lens, we are your gals.

Back to the questions

Is everything virtual?

Yes, all sessions are held via secure video calls. That means you can show up just as you are, from anywhere in Pennsylvania. Pet cameos allowed (and encouraged) during sessions.

Not located in Pennsylvania? No problem! We can also see clients in Delaware, New Jersey, Maryland, New York, DC, Vermont, New Hampshire, Connecticut, Virginia, West Virginia, Indiana, Wisconsin, Texas, Oklahoma, Wyoming, Colorado, Utah, Idaho, Oregon, Washington, and California. Cue the fifty states jingle we learned in elementary school.

Back to the questions

What kind of things do we talk about in session?

Anything that can be tied back to your relationship with food is fair game - people-pleasing by saying yes to a restaurant you really didn’t want to go to, that weird thing your mom said at dinner last week, a new find at the grocery store, etc. Food is the entry point, and it’s never the whole story.

Back to the questions

Do you take insurance?

We sure do! We currently accept Aetna insurance plans as a way to make care more accessible.

If you don’t have Aetna, we can still work together. A Superbill (aka a receipt for your nutrition therapy sessions) can be provided upon request for you to submit to your insurance company. Depending on your insurance plan, this may be applied to your out-of-network benefits. Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to ask your insurance about out-of-network benefits!

Back to the questions

What are your rates?

Our private pay rate depends on the clinician you’d like to work with!
  • Rachel’s rates are $175 for a 50 minute session and $105 for a 30 minute session.
  • Emily’s rates are $165 for a 50 minute session and $95 for a 30 minute session.

We value high quality care, and in order to put 100% of our focus towards you as our client, our fees account for not only our one-on-one session time, but also communication with the rest of your care team, brief email support to you and your loved ones, completing continuing education in specialized areas, and more.

We offer a limited number of reduced-rate spots for clients who may need financial assistance.

Back to the questions

How long would we work together?

Look, as much as we would L-O-V-E to have you rockin’ and rollin’ with a brand new relationship with food in a couple of sessions, the reality is that this process may take a while. We’re not quick-fix kinda people… we want to make sure you are supported as you challenge a lot of narratives that society has given to you about the way you should eat and look.

Back to the questions

Why do you specialize in trauma if it’s not related to food?

Food is rarely just about food. Many of our clients have unprocessed experiences that impact how safe they feel in their bodies. That’s why we take a trauma-aware approach, grounded in training with Gina Mateer - to support your nervous system.
